End the Sugar Madness

The first thing everyone should do; and I do mean everyone, healthy people included,  Is END THE SUGAR MADNESS in their lives. It is also the biggest job, when you learn that they have changed the name of sugar to hide it. I am sure there are probably other names that are used, however this comprehensive list give a pretty good idea of the more popular ones. So your task is to read labels carefully-you will be amazed at how many processed foods contain sugar including spaghetti sauce. My rule is “when in doubt…DON’T!”

Why no sugar specifically           for LYMIES?

Simply put, sugar feeds the bacteria.  The bacteria have a sweet tooth, I have to remind myself everytime the ice cream screams my name when im doing groceries.  To consume sugar is to feed the enemy.  There have been times when I have usedsugar as a battle strategy to pull them out during a full moon for a nice hot bath, but Im not sure of its effectiveness, so I suggest you not use it as a justification when you get incredible sugar cravings. lol   Remember its the bacteria talking.  Don't listen.

                        ***NO Aspartame OR Splenda***

Especially if you have cognitive problems. Instead use stevia, a natural product, which can be purchased in health food stores.

Aspartame (NUTRASWEET) is quite toxic to the nervous system and should not be ingested under any circumstance, but particularly if you have any neurological problems. Aspartame is a known serotonin inhibitor. Depression, type II Insomnia (waking between 2-4 AM) and weight GAIN are the symptoms associated with serotonin blockade. Stop all aspartame products and detoxify with a homeopathic remedy from Energique called Lipostat and Drainpar. Within a week, most notice an improvement in sleep. Gums, mints, candies, sodas and foods need to be explored as sources and all need to be removed. If you detoxify the aspartame out and reintroduce it later, significant neurological symptoms can occur.

Xylitol can be processed from trees like birch, but it can also be made with an industrial process that transforms a plant fiber called xylan into xylitol.  Xylitol is found in small amounts in many fruits and vegetables and is therefore considered natural. Humans even produce small amounts of it via normal metabolism.  Even though sugar alcohols are technically carbohydrates, most of them do not raise blood sugar levels and therefore don’t count as “net” carbs, making them popular sweeteners in low-carb products. more

Raw honey is a true superfood and one of my favorite natural sweeteners. It’s packed with enzymes, antioxidants, iron, zinc, potassium, calcium, phosphorous, vitamin B6, riboflavin and niacin. Together, these essential nutrients help to neutralize free radicals while promoting the growth of healthy bacteria in the digestive tract.

One tablespoon of raw honey has 64 calories and has less impact on glycemic load than a single banana. It’s important to note that these are the benefits of raw honey. more

The Stevia plant is part of the Asteraceae family, related to the daisy and ragweed. Several stevia species called "candyleaf" are native to New Mexico, Arizona and Texas. But the prized species, Stevia rebaudiana (Bertoni), grows in Paraguay and Brazil, where people have used leaves from the stevia bush to sweeten food for hundreds of years. In traditional medicine in these regions, stevia also served as a treatment for burns, colic, stomach problems and sometimes as a contraceptive. Stevia may also interact with anti-fungals, anti-inflammatories, anti-microbials, anti-cancer drugs, anti-virals, appetite suppressants, calcium channel blockers, cholesterol-lowering drugs, drugs that increase urination, fertility agents and other medications, Ulbricht said. People should talk with their doctor before deciding to take stevia in large amounts

Sugar Replacement Options

Both Stevia and Xylitol are known to be excellent in busting up biofilm, here is a video link discussing the studies on the multiple purposes of xylitol

Maple syrup supplies inflammation-reducing polyphenol antioxidants, it can be helpful in preventing certain diseases like arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease or heart disease.  It's plant-based compounds reduce oxidative stress, contains zinc and manganese in fairly high amounts, in addition to potassium and calcium. Zinc can help fight illness and improve immunity by increasing white blood cells, while manganese plays a role a crucial role in fat and carbohydrate metabolism, calcium absorption, blood sugar regulation, brain and nerve function.
